Requesting a photo review after a customer receives a product

Send a review request customers can actually answer

A good review request arrives after the customer has received and tried the product. With Loox, the main decisions are when to send it, what to say and whether to add reminders. Start with those three things before polishing the design.

This guide uses official documentation checked September 6, 2026. The copy and workflow are editorial examples, not results from a live campaign. For the full app overview, see our Loox review.

Subject: How's your recent purchase working out?

Thanks for shopping with us! Once you've had a chance to try your item, we'd love to hear what you think. What worked well, and what could be better? Your experience can help someone else choose.

Whenever you're ready, use the button below to leave a review.

Keep the message about one action. Ask for honest feedback, not a particular star rating, and say that a photo is optional if you're inviting one.

If you add an incentive, check the relevant email settings. Loox distinguishes promotional from non-promotional messages, with recipient and unsubscribe behavior to consider. Email and unsubscribe explanation

Choose what starts the timer

In Collect Reviews → Emails and scheduling, Loox's getting-started guide describes a delay of 1–70 days after purchase, fulfillment or delivery. Official setup guide

Fulfillment relates to your store's shipping process; it doesn't mean the parcel has arrived. Seven days after fulfillment can be quite different from seven days after delivery.

How to think about each timing option
TriggerWhen it may fitCheck first
PurchaseItems available soon after checkoutWhether shipping delays could make the email arrive too early
FulfillmentPredictable shipping timesTransit time plus time to try the product
DeliveryRequests based on actual arrivalDelivery tracking updates and account eligibility

Delivery-based timing depends on Shopify receiving delivery status or a supported AfterShip integration. Without the update, an email may not send. The help page still refers to the legacy Scale plan, so confirm availability in your current account. Delivery timing requirements

Look at a few recent orders, including preorders and international shipments. There's no single delay that suits every product: a customer can judge a decorative item sooner than something they need to use over several days.

Decide how many reminders to send

Loox documents a first reminder 24 hours after an unanswered request, followed by a second seven days later. You can control the number in Manage review reminders. Reminder documentation

Before enabling follow-ups, look at the other messages customers receive: order confirmation, shipping updates, product instructions and marketing emails. Each app's schedule might look reasonable on its own while the combined inbox feels crowded.

A simple check before sending
  1. Allow time: for arrival and product use.
  2. Ask clearly: keep the copy and button straightforward.
  3. Check overlap: review emails from all your apps.
  4. Verify: timing, delivery status and product links.

Why aren't my review request emails sending?

Open Review requests and look at the scheduled date and status. An order marked as awaiting delivery needs a delivery update; changing the email's subject won't fix it. The same applies to an order still waiting for fulfillment. Tracking Loox emails

If you need to pause messages, check initial requests, review reminders and photo/video reminders separately. Turning off one category doesn't stop them all. Stopping Loox emails

During the first week, inspect a few orders for timing, correct product links and duplicate messages. If few people respond, check those basics before adding more reminders.

What if you also use Omnisend or Klaviyo?

Decide which app sends the review request. Loox's request-email documentation says its transactional option isn't available when sending through Omnisend or Klaviyo, so the behavior differs from Loox sending directly.

Once collection is working, use our AI and translation guide to explore displaying feedback in other languages. The pricing guide explains the relevant limits and paid features.
