Is Loox worth considering for your Shopify store?
Your product photos show what you sell. Customer photos answer a different question: what does it look like in someone's home or daily routine? Loox helps Shopify stores collect and display that feedback, with AI features that summarize and present existing reviews. Official overview
Our view: it's worth a look if real customer experiences could help shoppers understand your products. If you're starting with very few reviews, focus on collecting feedback and displaying it clearly before paying for advanced AI features.
This review uses official sources checked on September 6, 2026. We haven't tested Loox on a live store or measured its effect on purchases. The examples are our editorial suggestions.
What does Loox do?
Loox's Shopify listing describes photo and video reviews, review request emails and storefront widgets. A widget is simply a section you add to a page, such as a review grid or star-rating display. Shopify app listing
For a bag, a customer photo might help someone judge its size. For a lamp, a review might explain how bright it feels in a real room. That's the value to look for: details that help another shopper decide.
- Ask: invite customers to share their experience.
- Collect: connect feedback to the right product.
- Display: make the original review easy to read.
- Check: compare AI summaries with the source reviews.
How much does it cost?
Loox lists Beginner as free, Convert from $49.99 a month and Unlimited at $299.99 a month. Official pricing
Beginner includes up to 2,000 review request emails per month, with eligibility up to 500 total store orders after the trial ends. That's a cumulative order limit, not 500 new orders every month. Beginner details
Convert covers the first 300 monthly orders, then adds $50 for each additional block of 300. For example, 600 orders would cost $99.99 before taxes under those terms. The count is based on Shopify orders; check how your sales channels contribute. Convert billing

AI Summaries and Stories: two different features
AI Review Summaries give shoppers a short overview of published feedback. They require Convert or Unlimited and at least ten published reviews for an eligible product. Initial generation covers the top 20 eligible products; contact support if you already have more qualifying products to include. Summary documentation
AI Review Stories present review insights in tappable slides. They require at least fifteen published reviews and currently use the store's primary language without multilingual switching. Stories documentation
These features help people explore real feedback; they don't create new customer reviews. A product with three reviews won't qualify just because you've chosen a paid plan. Count your reviews before making AI the reason to upgrade.
When previewing a summary, read it alongside the original comments. A remark about one size shouldn't become a claim about every size. Keep the individual reviews easy to reach so shoppers can find the context.
Pros and tradeoffs
What makes Loox interesting: photo and video feedback, automated collection requests, and several ways to show reviews on product pages. Summaries and translation add options once you have enough feedback and the right plan.
What to weigh: Convert's cost rises with orders, AI features have review thresholds, and language support differs by feature. Adding more review displays also deserves a mobile layout check: your price and purchase button should stay easy to find.
What about international stores?
The app listing names English as the app language. That isn't the same as the language shoppers see. Loox's multilingual setting translates forms, buttons and emails, but doesn't by itself translate customer reviews. Multilingual documentation
Automatic review translation is separate and includes languages such as Japanese. Combined with multilingual support, it can follow the customer's selected storefront language. Review translation
Check the actual widget you're using, including comments about fit, measurements and drawbacks. Stories still have the primary-language limitation described above. Our AI and translation guide walks through the differences.
What should you set up first?
Choose one product page and preview a review display on your phone. Then work on the review request email: clear wording and enough time for the customer to use the item.
If another app handles post-purchase emails, decide which app sends each message so customers don't get duplicate requests. Our Omnisend guide covers broader email campaigns.
Need video reviews from a product-gifting campaign?
If you want feedback from people who bought from your store, start with the review-request workflow above. If you're a US-based Shopify brand looking to send products to people who record their experience, read our Reviewers.com guide and comparison with Loox. It covers eligibility, product and shipping costs, and how the resulting videos can be used. The two services solve different collection needs; don't assume a review-display subscription includes a product-gifting campaign.
Loox doesn't guarantee more sales or stars in Google results. Start by making feedback useful and readable; search visibility is a separate topic covered in our Ranked AI introduction.
