Budget for AI work, not just visitors

ConversionIQ measures usage in AI Actions. Its FAQ describes a unit such as a moderated comment or a chat response. That is different from counting customers: one visitor can generate several AI responses in a single conversation. Official FAQ

Begin with the work you want automated. A short opening-hours question and a detailed appointment discussion can consume different amounts. Website traffic alone is therefore a weak basis for a monthly estimate.

This guide uses official information checked September 6, 2026. Prices are USD; calculations exclude taxes and channel fees. They are editorial examples, not a bill verified in a live account. See our ConversionIQ overview for the wider product.

Monthly plan comparison

Published monthly prices checked September 6, 2026; USD
PlanBase priceIncluded AI ActionsAdditional action
Starter$99100$0.30
Standard$199750$0.25
Premium$4992,500$0.15

Enterprise is quoted separately. Starter includes up to two social profiles, while Standard lists unlimited profiles. Confirm the features and connections you need rather than selecting on base price alone. Official pricing

CommentResponder and ChattiLive share the included usage pool. If both social moderation and web chat are active, look at combined usage rather than assuming each product has a separate allowance. Shared usage explanation

A 1,000-action example

At 1,000 monthly AI Actions, Starter would be $99 plus 900 additional actions at $0.30, or $369. Standard would be $199 plus 250 at $0.25, or $261.50. Premium would remain within its included pool at $499. These calculations use the published rates and exclude other charges.

In this example, the lowest base subscription does not produce the lowest total. That does not make Standard the universal recommendation: required features, supported connections and operating needs still matter.

For your own worksheet, separate short questions, longer conversations and comment processing. During a pilot, record both conversations and the usage reported by the platform. Avoid treating a guessed number of replies per visitor as an observed result.

Model an ordinary month and a busier campaign month. An average taken from a quiet week is useful as a starting estimate, but it may not describe a launch or seasonal promotion. Keep the assumption visible so that you can update it later.

  1. Limit: choose one channel and inquiry type.
  2. Measure: record conversations and AI Actions separately.
  3. Calculate: combine subscription, overage and channel costs.
  4. Review: compare cost with useful outcomes and team effort.

Keep channel fees on a separate line

The published SMS fee is $0.0125 per incoming or outgoing segment when using ConversionIQ's provider service. WhatsApp lists $0.02 per incoming or outgoing message for the US and Canada, and $0.04 internationally. Additional channel fees

A segment is an SMS billing unit, not necessarily the single message a reader sees. Ask how your actual message length and language affect segmentation. Confirm the destination market and connection method before applying a rate to a forecast.

Keep AI processing and communications costs in separate worksheet rows. Also establish which charges any spending control covers. An included AI allowance should not be interpreted as every channel cost being included.

Plan for the moment a cap is reached

ConversionIQ documents an overage spending cap that pauses AI Actions when reached. Budget control FAQ

That makes cost control an operational decision too. During the pilot, determine what customers see, where the team receives notice and how incoming requests will be handled after the pause. Do not assume a cost limit automatically creates a working human queue.

Our human handoff guide explains how to define responsibilities. Keep the cost discussion tied to service quality: making replies shorter can be counterproductive if customers need more exchanges to get an answer.

Is lower usage always better?

Not if questions remain unresolved. Compare correct answers, team workload and useful next steps alongside action counts.

What should the trial establish?
