Matching product reviews to the correct items in a product feed

Start with the products you already send to Google

Loox can connect product reviews to Google Shopping. The useful starting point is your product data. If you're already running product listings, choose a representative product and check how Shopify, your product feed, and Merchant Center identify it.

A candle available in several sizes is a good example. Similar names don't establish which listing a review belongs to. The underlying identifiers need to line up.

This guide covers integration planning and setup checks. For storefront presentation, see Loox review widgets. Official sources were checked on September 28, 2026.

Budget for Convert, rather than the entry plan

Google Shopping is included with Convert and higher plans. Loox lists Convert from USD 49.99 per month on its pricing page. Beginner's free tier is a different starting point, so don't use that price to budget for this integration.

The Shopify App Store listing includes 300 orders in Convert's base price, then USD 50 per additional 300 orders. Recurring and usage charges are billed every 30 days, in USD. The standard trial shown there is 14 days; this site's referral offer provides an extended 30-day trial, which you should confirm at signup.

Compare a typical month's orders with a busy month from your own records. Then check the selected plan in the signup flow. Our Loox pricing guide covers the wider cost decision.

Check which reviews qualify

Count eligible reviews before treating the integration as ready. Google states that Product Ratings requires at least 50 reviews across your products. Loox's help page uses “more than 50,” so confirm eligibility if you're right at the boundary. See Google's Product Ratings overview.

Loox's feed includes qualifying verified reviews and eligible reviews migrated from another platform. Having a review in your dashboard alone doesn't settle its eligibility. The Loox integration guide explains the requirements.

For a store that has changed review apps, keep the original source information available. For a newer store, build a consistent review request process while preparing the product data. Those are two useful pieces of work you can tackle separately.

Match identifiers before changing settings

Use the values actually present in Merchant Center. GTINs identify products across commerce systems; MPNs are manufacturer part numbers. Google's identifier guide explains how these values help match products.

Open a representative product in Merchant Center, then compare it with Shopify and whichever app builds your product feed. Make a short note of the source field and the value Google receives. Don't change your catalog simply because a setup example uses a different field.

Loox asks for at least two strong matching identifiers between the product and review feeds. Use genuine product information, and follow the instructions for your existing feed tool. A made-up GTIN doesn't solve a matching problem.

Connect Loox and check representative products

Once the mapping is clear, configure the Google Shopping integration in Loox. Open Integrations, choose Google Shopping, and check automatic syncing and the identifier settings against Merchant Center. Country-specific product ID formats also need to match the feed you actually use. Follow Loox's setup instructions.

Keep the same product open as you move between tools. If your catalog includes variants or several target countries, add representative examples of those cases. This is more useful than assuming a single product tells you everything about the catalog.

Record the setup date and the product you checked. If you need support, being able to describe the selected source field and the received value makes the question much easier to investigate.

Treat syncing and live display as separate checks

A working connection and a visible rating aren't the same milestone. Google determines display based on review and product information. Its product ratings aggregate multiple sources, so the number shown isn't necessarily a copy of your storefront widget. See Google's overview.

Loox's Google Shopping FAQ covers plan access and migrated review eligibility. Compare those requirements with your account, and check the existing connection before considering another submission route.

When investigating display, use the same product and target country each time. Check product data issues, review eligibility, and plan access in a consistent order. Product ratings, store ratings, and organic search results serve different purposes; decide which placement you're checking before changing anything.

Questions before starting the trial

Use the trial to check whether your own catalog is ready for the integration. Choose Convert's relevant features and work through a representative product.

Does installing the storefront widget complete the setup?

Check storefront display and the Google connection separately. A widget's appearance doesn't establish the review feed's product matching.

Can I copy the US example for every market?

Use the country and identifier format present in your actual product feed. An example is a reference, not a substitute for your catalog's values.

What if I haven't started listing products on Google?

Prepare the product listing setup first while organizing review collection and storefront display in Loox. With both parts ready, the integration becomes a more focused setup task.
