A shop owner organizing audience size and email marketing costs

Omnisend has a free plan, with paid plans from $16

Omnisend offers a Free plan, Standard from $16 per month, and Pro from $59 per month, in US dollars. Your paid plan's price depends on your billable contacts, while each plan has its own email allowance. SMS is a separate cost.

To estimate your bill, you'll need two numbers: your billable contact count and the number of emails you expect to send, including automated messages.

This guide uses official information checked on September 6, 2026. We haven't verified charges in a paid account; the calculations are planning examples. Our Omnisend overview covers the features.

Try Omnisend's free plan

Start with the free plan

Omnisend's Free plan lets you send up to 500 emails a month to a maximum of 250 contacts, with no credit card required. It's a free tier rather than a trial that expires after a set number of days. Use a small list to try your emails and workflows; a 500-email allowance doesn't mean you can reach 500 different people. Official free-plan limits Checked September 7, 2026.

  • Free: a way to try the editor and a small email workflow within the limits above.
  • Standard: a sensible starting point for comparison if you mainly need email.
  • Pro: worth comparing when your volume or a required feature justifies the extra cost.

Your subscriber count may not be your billable count

The public pricing page includes subscribers and non-subscribed contacts receiving automated messages in its billing explanation, while excluding unsubscribed contacts. Billable contact explanation

Your newsletter may have 400 subscribers while your billable count is different. Check the figure in your account before budgeting. A contact being billable also doesn't automatically make them eligible to receive marketing emails. Our segmentation guide explains how to organize recipients.

Save the count each month. If your bill changes, you can check whether the cause was a bigger list, a plan change, or the end of a discount.

Estimate how many emails you'll send

Suppose you send four newsletters to 400 eligible subscribers. That's 1,600 emails. Add 100 welcome emails and 150 post-purchase messages, and the total is 1,850. Two extra newsletters during a promotion would add another 800.

Use a worksheet with one row for each campaign or automation: how many people will receive it, how many messages each gets, and the total. A three-email welcome series uses more sends than a single greeting, and a busy launch can bring more signups than a typical month.

Four steps to estimate your email budget
  1. Count: Check your billable contact count.
  2. Estimate: Add newsletters and automated sends.
  3. Specify: List the features and channels you actually need.
  4. Compare: Calculate an ordinary month and a busy month.

Check what happens after the introductory discount

The official guide describes a first-upgrade offer of 30% off when paying three months upfront. At the Standard entry tier, that means $11.20 per month equivalent and $33.60 paid for those three months, followed by regular pricing. Confirm eligibility and your contact tier at checkout. Introductory offer conditions

Write down both the first payment and the regular monthly cost. If you budget in another currency, keep the USD price alongside your estimate so you can tell an exchange-rate change from a subscription increase.

Does the plan include SMS?

For new paid subscriptions from May 4, 2026, SMS requires Pro and is purchased separately; included SMS credits are not the default. Older reviews may describe legacy arrangements. Current SMS rules

Check SMS rates for your customers' countries; a US starting rate won't apply everywhere. If you just want to send welcome emails for now, you can start there without adding SMS.

Also list any AI features you want, such as copy drafting or product recommendations, and confirm whether the plan or an add-on includes them. Don't assume all AI features come as one bundle.

Is a higher plan worth the cost?

Look at how much time you spend preparing emails, whether people click through, and what questions they ask. With a small audience, one or two purchases can change the reported conversion rate sharply, so don't upgrade based on one good day.

Compare the extra cost with what you keep from each extra order after relevant costs. For example, a $30 monthly increase would need three additional orders contributing $10 each to cover it. You'll still need to consider whether the emails actually led to those orders.

Start with a single welcome email, learn your real sending needs and then choose a plan you can sustain.
