Multilingual reviews involve more than translated buttons

An English-speaking shopper may understand the review form while still being unable to read a Japanese customer's comments. Loox addresses these needs through separate features: interface localization, review translation and AI presentation.

Decide which problem you want to solve first. Translating a body of feedback and giving readers a short overview are useful but different jobs. A store can need one without needing the other.

Set the primary language before enabling translation

Loox documents the controls under Settings, General, Localization. Choose the primary language before enabling Auto-translate reviews. Used alone, translation presents reviews in that primary language. Combined with Multilingual support, review content can follow the language customers select on the storefront.

Start with one product. Open it in your primary language, then switch to a second language and revisit the same review section. Look at the buttons and the customer text separately so that a localized interface does not conceal untranslated content.

The multilingual documentation lists limitations for Sidebar and Carousel widgets. A successful check on the main product review section is therefore not proof that every display on the site behaves identically. Test the locations you actually use.

Use summaries as an entrance to the original feedback

AI Review Summaries add a short overview inside the product's Reviews Widget. An eligible product needs at least ten published reviews. The feature presents existing feedback; it does not add an independent customer testimonial.

The summary text is generated automatically and cannot be edited manually. Compare it with the underlying feedback. If its meaning is unsuitable, review display settings and raise the issue with support rather than presenting an invented replacement as a customer's experience. The card also identifies its AI origin.

Useful checks focus on context. Did a comment about one size become a claim about the whole range? Did a personal preference about texture turn into an objective product property? These questions matter more than whether the sentence sounds polished.

Stories do not share every translation capability

AI Review Stories turn existing feedback into a tappable slide experience. The documented requirement includes at least fifteen published reviews. The current FAQ says the widget does not yet support multilingual switching and appears in the store's primary language.

That distinction matters for international stores. Translating ordinary review text does not mean Stories will follow the language selector. First establish whether the main review section meets the reader's needs, then consider additional presentation.

Stories text cannot be rewritten manually, but individual slides or a product's entire story can be hidden. Keep the shopping journey readable on mobile. A prominent entry point is not helpful if it makes the purchase button or essential product information difficult to find.

Build a small translation quality checklist

Do not test only simple praise. Feedback about dimensions, delays, fit and drawbacks contains conditions that affect a buying decision. Select several original reviews with those details and record the source, displayed version and any concern.

Focus on units, product names, negation and scope. A phrase such as “not too heavy” can become misleading if the negative is lost. This is a proposed review method, not a claim that Loox makes that particular error.

Repeat the check on a phone. Can readers see the complete text, identify the AI label and reach individual reviews? Language quality and layout need to work together.

Is review translation available on the free plan?

What if a product has only five reviews?

Can a summary replace all individual reviews?

Individual experiences contain context that a short summary cannot preserve. Keep source feedback accessible and use the summary to help readers begin exploring it.
