When is Loox worth considering?
Your product photos show what you sell. Customer photos can answer a different question: what does it look like in someone else's home or daily routine? Loox is a Shopify review app aimed at collecting and displaying that kind of feedback, with AI features for organizing and presenting existing reviews. Official product overview
Our view: shortlist it when customer experiences could make a product easier to understand. For a brand-new store with very few reviews, collection and a readable display matter before advanced AI summaries.
This guide is based on official sources checked on September 6, 2026. We have not installed Loox on a live store or measured its effect on purchases. Evaluation examples below are editorial suggestions, not customer testimonials.
Start with real customer experiences
Loox's Shopify listing describes photo and video reviews, collection requests and storefront widgets. A widget is simply a section added to your page, such as a review grid or rating display. Shopify app listing
Decide what would help the next shopper. For a bag, that might be a picture showing its size in use. For a lamp, it might be a description of its brightness in a real room. Those details can be more useful than a short compliment with no context.
Keep the source of the feedback intact. AI presentation should help people understand actual customer experiences; it should not invent customers, photos, ratings or endorsements to fill an empty page.
- Ask: invite customers to describe their real experience.
- Collect: keep feedback attached to the correct product.
- Present: make the original review easy to read.
- Check: compare any AI summary with its source feedback.
What the AI features do—and what they need
Loox's AI Review Summaries condense published reviews and require at least ten published reviews for an eligible product. They are available on Convert and Unlimited. Initial generation covers the top 20 eligible products; ask support if you already have more qualifying products to include. The summary is AI-generated, rather than an additional customer's review. Summary documentation
AI Review Stories are a different format, presenting review insights in tappable slides. They need at least fifteen published reviews and currently do not offer multilingual support; they use the store's primary language. Review Stories documentation
These requirements affect the purchase decision. A store with three reviews should not subscribe solely because a demo shows a rich summary experience. First check which of your products qualify.
When testing, read several original reviews beside the summary. Does a statement about “easy assembly” overlook a meaningful exception? Is a comment about one size being interpreted as applying to every size? The goal is useful context, not just a more attractive box.
Pricing: check orders as well as features
Loox lists Beginner as free, Convert from $49.99 monthly and Unlimited at $299.99 monthly. Official pricing
Beginner's documentation describes up to 2,000 review request emails each month and eligibility up to 500 total store orders after the trial ends. That order threshold is not a fresh allowance of 500 each month. Beginner plan details
Convert includes the first 300 monthly orders, then adds $50 for each additional block of 300. The documentation bases the count on Shopify orders. Confirm how your sales channels contribute to that count. Convert plan and billing basis
| Your situation | Start by checking |
|---|---|
| Collecting first reviews | Beginner eligibility and basic display |
| Want AI summaries | Paid feature access and eligible product review counts |
| Growing monthly orders | Convert usage charges against Unlimited |
| Selling internationally | Review translation and each widget's language behavior |
A hypothetical 600-order month on Convert would cost $99.99 before taxes under that published calculation. This is an example, not a store-specific quote. Review collection volume and billable order volume are different numbers.

Japanese support: three separate questions
The app listing names English as its language. That should not be confused with what customers can see on your storefront. App language information
Loox's multilingual setting translates interface elements such as forms, buttons and emails; it does not by itself translate customer reviews. Multilingual documentation
Automatic review translation is a separate feature, and Japanese appears in its supported languages. When used with multilingual support, review text can follow the customer's selected storefront language. Review translation documentation
Test the actual widget you plan to use. Check product terminology, dimensions and negative feedback as well as simple praise. Remember that the Stories limitation described above still applies; “Japanese supported” is not a blanket promise for every feature.
A useful first installation brief
Choose one product with meaningful feedback, then compare its mobile page before and after adding a review section. Keep the price, purchase button and important product details easy to find. More widgets do not automatically make the page better.
Send yourself a sample request and check the wording and timing. If another platform already sends post-purchase messages, assign responsibility for each message. Our Omnisend guide helps separate review collection from broader follow-up campaigns.
Frequently asked questions
Does Loox create reviews for a new store?
Its AI features discussed here work with existing feedback. Build an authentic review library rather than using generated praise as if it came from customers.
Will review widgets guarantee more sales or Google stars?
Do not treat either outcome as guaranteed. Evaluate the customer experience and check any search-display requirements separately. Our Ranked AI introduction addresses the broader discovery stage.
What is the simplest next step?
Count reviews on your main products, record monthly orders and choose one display to preview. Those three facts will make the current plan comparison much clearer.
