Ask after customers have something useful to say

A review request arriving before the package creates an awkward experience. Before styling a Loox email, decide when a customer is likely to have received and tried the product. A decorative item and a product used over several days may need different thinking.

The aim is a request people can answer comfortably. There is no universal delay that fits every store, shipping route and product. This guide uses official documentation checked September 6, 2026. Copy and workflow examples are editorial suggestions, not findings from a live campaign.

Pick the event that starts the clock

Loox's getting-started guide describes a delay of 1–70 days after purchase, fulfillment or delivery. Find the timing controls under Collect Reviews, then Emails and scheduling. Official setup guide

Fulfillment is the store's shipping process, not proof that the customer has received the parcel. Seven days after fulfillment can therefore mean something very different from seven days after delivery.

Editorial considerations for choosing a trigger
TriggerWhen to consider itCheck first
PurchaseProducts available quickly after checkoutWhether shipping delays make the request premature
FulfillmentStores with reasonably predictable transit timesTransit time plus time to use the product
DeliveryRequests tied to actual arrivalTracking updates and account eligibility

Delivery-based timing depends on Shopify receiving delivery status or a supported AfterShip integration. Missing updates can prevent the request from sending. The help page still mentions the legacy Scale plan, so confirm current availability in your account rather than mapping that name to a new plan yourself. Delivery timing requirements

Review a few recent orders before choosing a delay. Preorders and long-distance shipments deserve particular attention. The point is to make the scheduled event correspond to the customer's experience.

Keep the first message easy to answer

Loox lets you customize the subject, body, appearance and request button. Customers should understand which purchase you mean and where to leave feedback. Request email editing

Here is original sample copy you can adapt:

Subject: How is your recent purchase working out?

Thanks for shopping with us. Once you have had a chance to try your item, we would love to hear what worked well and what could be better. Your experience can help another customer choose. Use the button below whenever you have a moment.

Ask for an honest account, not a particular star rating. If a photo is optional, say so. Avoid loading the first email with several competing requests; a clear invitation is easier to respond to than a long questionnaire.

If you add an incentive, review the relevant email settings. Loox distinguishes promotional and non-promotional messages. Check the recipient and unsubscribe behavior rather than treating a template as a complete compliance decision for your store. Official email and unsubscribe explanation

Treat reminders as part of the whole customer journey

Loox documents a first reminder 24 hours after an unanswered request, followed by a second seven days later. The Manage review reminders section controls the number sent. Reminder documentation

Put order confirmations, shipping notices, product instructions and review requests on the same timeline. Two messages may look reasonable within one app while contributing to a crowded inbox across all your tools. Start with the complete journey before adding follow-ups.

An editorial pre-send workflow
  1. Allow time: account for delivery and product use.
  2. Ask clearly: use short copy and a recognizable button.
  3. Check overlap: place all follow-up emails on one timeline.
  4. Verify: inspect scheduling, delivery status and product links.

Troubleshoot the state, not just the template

The Review requests area shows scheduled dates and states such as awaiting delivery or sent. If an order is waiting for fulfillment, rewriting the subject line will not resolve that condition. Check the stage first. Tracking Loox emails

If you need to pause collection while reviewing settings, check initial requests, review reminders and photo/video reminders separately. Disabling one category is not the same as stopping every message. Stopping Loox emails

During the first week, inspect a small sample of orders for appropriate timing, correct product links and duplicated messages. Review rate alone cannot tell you whether a customer found the process clear.

Frequently asked questions

Should I add reminders if few customers respond?

Check arrival timing, message clarity and the submission page first. Sending more requests will not fix a broken link or an invitation arriving too early.

What if Omnisend handles my other emails?

Assign responsibility for review requests explicitly. Loox's request email documentation says its transactional option is unavailable when sending through Omnisend or Klaviyo, so the behavior differs from Loox sending directly.

Can I display the collected reviews in another language?

See our AI and translation guide for the distinction between translated controls and translated review text. Our pricing guide covers plan requirements and budgeting.
