Existing photo reviews moving from an archive to a new product display

You do not have to start your review collection over

Loox supports importing existing product reviews from other apps and files. The right route depends on where your reviews are stored now. Begin there rather than rebuilding a spreadsheet before you know what the importer expects. Official import overview

This guide covers the move itself, using official information checked on October 3, 2026. If you are still choosing between apps, read our Loox versus Judge.me comparison.

A successful switch has three parts: your existing feedback, the review display shoppers see, and the request emails that collect the next reviews. An upload completes only the first part.

Pick the import route that matches your source

Use the source-specific instructions when Loox provides them. Its help center lists routes for apps including Judge.me, Yotpo, Okendo, and Stamped. Other formats can use a custom file. Supported import routes

Before doing anything to the data, keep an untouched export. Work on a copy when changes are necessary. Two files can both be CSVs and still use different columns, so the file extension alone does not tell you which importer to choose.

Build a short list of products to check after the move. Include a product with photo reviews, one with long review text, and one whose name or URL has changed. A varied sample gives you specific things to inspect instead of asking whether the new page generally looks right.

Moving from Judge.me

Loox has a dedicated Judge.me import route. For a manual move, the official instructions say to export published reviews from Judge.me, choose Judge.me under Loox's Import Reviews, and upload the exported file without changing it. Judge.me migration instructions

Decide when that export will be taken. If your store collects new reviews between the first export and the switch, those need attention too. Give the task a clear owner so an early rehearsal file is not mistaken for the final data.

After the import, compare the result with your representative products. A total count cannot tell you whether a review is attached to the intended product or whether the photo you care about is visible. Keep that check focused on real product pages.

Treat custom CSV files and video as separate requirements

Loox's custom-file route handles text and photo product reviews; its documentation directs video imports to support. The template includes product identification, rating, author, review text, and submission date. Follow that template rather than inventing your own column layout. Custom-file requirements

The same guide specifies CSV UTF-8 when opening and saving the file. That matters if reviews contain accented characters or Japanese text. If a file looks garbled, return to the original and check how it was opened before saving over anything.

Preserve the customer's meaning and the connection to the product. A migration is not an opportunity to rewrite feedback, manufacture reviewer names, or remove low ratings to make the numbers look tidy. Carry any purchase or incentive information according to the underlying records.

For video, prepare the source location and associated products before contacting support. That turns “Can I move my videos?” into a concrete question about the collection you actually have.

Choose the plan for what comes after the import

Import capability and your ongoing feature needs are separate decisions. The Shopify listing shows a free Beginner tier, Convert at $49.99 a month, and Unlimited at $299.99 a month. Check the features and order allowance relevant to your store, especially if video is part of the reason for moving. Official app listing, checked October 3, 2026.

The standard paid-plan trial is 14 days. Our referral offer advertises an extended trial; check the period shown when you sign up. Plan to cover the import, storefront display, and request-email handover during that window.

Include any temporary overlap with your current subscription in the budget. A clear switch date is more useful than assuming you can remove the old app immediately. See the Loox pricing guide for the wider plan decision.

Finish the switch with displays and request emails

Decide which app will collect new reviews before both start sending requests. Loox's migration guide explains that selecting request timing during onboarding starts scheduling emails. It also recommends taking a fresh export before uninstalling the previous app. Official migration checklist

A practical handover looks like this:

  1. Keep the source export and check the import result.
  2. Inspect review text, photos, and ratings on representative products.
  3. Hand request emails over to Loox and resolve any overlap.
  4. Account for reviews collected during the transition, then remove the old app's display and subscription as appropriate.

Check the storefront on mobile as well. The reviews should be readable without getting in the way of product information or purchasing. Our widget guide covers display choices; you can keep the initial migration focused and refine the design afterward.

Questions to answer during the trial

What if some reviews fail to import?

Use the import summary and error file described in Loox's instructions to identify what needs correction. Keep your original export intact while you work through the affected records. Import results

Should I uninstall the previous app first?

Plan the move while you can still check the original records and any new arrivals. Set the removal date after the data, storefront display, and request emails are ready.

What should I prepare before signing up?

Identify where your reviews live and choose the products you need to verify. Then use the Loox trial to check that import route and the resulting product-page display.
