Illustration comparing a toolbox focused on photo reviews with a wider toolbox that adds loyalty, referrals, surveys and quizzes, measured against order volume

Loox vs Okendo: Loox is the focused photo-review app; Okendo bundles loyalty, surveys and quizzes

If your goal is to collect photo and video reviews and show them on product pages, start with Loox. If you want reviews, loyalty points, referrals, surveys and quizzes in one product, Okendo is the one to price out. The two also count orders differently, so the cheaper option depends on your monthly volume.

  • Loox: the free Beginner plan covers up to 500 orders in total, counted after the trial ends. Convert costs $49.99 a month and includes 300 orders.
  • Okendo: paid plans start at $19 a month (Essential, up to 200 orders a month). A free plan appears in its Shopify App Store listing, but Okendo's own pricing page does not list it.

This comparison uses Loox's help center and Shopify App Store listing, plus Okendo's website, pricing page and Shopify App Store listing, all checked October 26, 2026. For Loox plan details on their own, see the Loox pricing guide. For a head-to-head with another app, see Loox vs Judge.me, and for a wider roundup, Shopify review apps compared. Free plans and entry pricing: the two apps count orders differently

Look at how each app counts orders before you compare prices. Loox's free Beginner plan is capped at 500 orders in total, counted from the end of the trial. It is a lifetime allowance rather than a monthly one, and once you reach it you move to a paid plan. Beginner sends up to 2,000 review request emails a month (Loox removed the old 100-a-month cap on July 15, 2026).

Okendo's App Store listing shows a Free plan for up to 50 orders a month. But Okendo's homepage says "Plans from $19/month," and its pricing page does not mention a free plan. The listing may be out of date, so if you plan to start free, check the plan list and billing screen in the Shopify admin before you rely on it.

Paid plans: $49.99 and $19 do not buy the same thing

Loox Convert is $49.99 a month with 300 orders included and $50 for each extra 300, capped at $999.99 a month (6,000 orders). Okendo Essential is $19 a month for up to 200 orders. Okendo looks cheaper on sticker price, but the order allowances and features are not the same.

  • On Loox, Convert adds unlimited review request emails, video reviews, AI features, unlimited referrals, Google, Meta and TikTok syndication, API and webhook access, and the option to hide Loox branding.
  • Okendo sells named plans by monthly order band (0-200, 201-1,500, 1,501-3,500, 3,501-10,000 and 10,001+). If you go over, you move up a plan or buy one-off order credits.

Whether you pass 200 orders a month, and whether you need Convert-level features like video or AI, can flip which one costs less. Plug your own order volume into both price lists.

Feature scope: Loox is review-first, Okendo reaches further into customer data

Both are review apps, but Okendo lists a wider set of tools. Loox centers on collecting and displaying photo and video reviews. Okendo covers that and adds loyalty, referrals, surveys and quizzes.

Photo and video reviews, and request emails

On Loox, request emails, reminders and a discount for photo reviews are available from the free Beginner plan. Video reviews start at Convert. The Loox getting started guide walks through email timing and discount setup in order.

Okendo's App Store listing mentions photo and video reviews, email requests (SMS requests are mentioned too), and carousel and media-gallery layouts. It also lists automated request emails, review display and Google SEO snippets (the star ratings that can appear in search results) on the Free plan.

Loyalty, referrals and surveys

This is where the two products differ most.

  • Okendo lists loyalty (points, VIP tiers, discounts, store credit, cashback), referrals, surveys and quizzes as features of the same product. Its FAQ says quizzes and loyalty have all features on every plan. It also says referral integrations currently work with Klaviyo only.
  • On Loox, referrals start at Convert, and loyalty is handled through integrations such as LoyaltyLion. The Loox referrals guide covers what that feature does.

If you want reviews and a points program managed in one place, Okendo is the closer match. If you already run a separate loyalty app, or reviews are all you need for now, Loox may be enough.

Integrations

Loox lists Shopify Flow, Klaviyo, LoyaltyLion, Meta Shops, Omnisend, the Shop app and Google Shopping. Okendo lists Shopify Flow, Klaviyo, Gorgias, Postscript, Meta, TikTok, Google, Walmart and 50+ other apps. Check each app's listing for the email and helpdesk tools you already use.

Switching from another review app

If you already collect reviews elsewhere, migration effort matters. Loox documents how to import reviews from other sources in its help center, and the Loox import reviews guide summarizes it. For Okendo's migration steps, check Okendo's help center. For a Japanese-language admin and email templates, check the actual screens in a free trial.
